Publicity Page for the Existential Smut Series

The purpose of this page is to make it easier for reviewers, bloggers and journalists to find graphics and material to include in blogposts, social media and articles about the Existential Smut series. It’s a boring page really.

First, the Get the Books page already has a lot of basic book info for both books, links to graphics, sales info and copyright. I combined all this into a single web page.

Actually though, there are separate book pages for Volumes 1 and Volume 2. These separate book pages include a longer book description and links to reader reviews and comments about each volume.

On both pages I provide links to where you can buy the ebook and where you can download the ebook for free.

Ebook cover graphics:

Existential Smut 1: 400 pixels (118K), 600 pixels (253K), high-resolution (1600 pixels, 1.2MB)

Existential 2: 400 pixels (69K), 600 pixels (229K), high-resolution (1563×2500, 3.0MB)

Author Picture. 400 pixels (87 K) and 1155 pixels, (529K). Instead of a picture, I use a square portion from Ingres’ famous painting, “Raphael and La Fornarina” (1813).

Book Samples

Sample Stories: Text of these stories are Creative Commons, so generally they can be reproduced on various websites as long as proper credit is given. (Read more). Images in the sample stories appearing on this website have information identifying the art and copyright status. Generally though, they can be reproduced on other websites.

Guest Posts/Book Excerpts. The ebook contains short conversations about the erotic life between the book’s female and male character. They are between 300-1500 words, self-contained, light-hearted and not particularly explicit. If you want to run a book excerpt containing one of these excerpts, I’d be happy to provide it. I can suggest two or three excerpts to choose from. Or if you prefer, you can look over the descriptions of each excerpt in the Table of Contents (here and here) and suggest one yourself.

Interviews. Totally open to short interviews for a blog or journal.

Book Screenshots: The Get the Books page links to many representative “screenshots” of the ebook to give a preview. They are in jpg format. Usually they include illustrations and the opening lines. Here are some ones to use:

Short Author Bio

Hapax Legomenon is the editor behind the Existential Smut series and primary author for Volumes 1 and 2. In the early 1990s, Hapax began writing a series of erotic meditations and in 2003 started posting the stories on an X-rated story website. He was born in New York and has worked in publishing, education and software development. During the 1990s, he also lived in Eastern Europe. He is unmarried and currently lives in the southern part of the United States. “Hapax Legomenon” is a pseudonym.

How to Describe the Stories?

The descriptions on each book page provide enough detail to pique people’s curiosity. Here is a more factual description:

It varies. Several stories are comic or fun. Most are psychological and contemplative. The language can be sexually explicit, polite but never demeaning, laced with metaphor and wit. Many focus on private erotic feelings and the struggle to understand them. Most are told from the perspective of a young single male seeking love and exploring erotic desire. No violence, occasionally kinky, but mostly about heterosexual couples and how relationships wither or flourish. Although most stories are realistic, some are far-fetched and fantastic. Finally, the stories (and the overall story frame) are bookish and literary and raise questions about the nature of erotic fiction.

Miscellaneous Art work

Readers of this ebook series will notice the use of art as illustrations. The full list is here, and most are easy to find from free and publicly available online sources.

But I thought I’d drop in some of my favorite illustrations which you are free to use in any writeups. They are all medium resolution (the identical images used in the ebooks). All the work I found for the ebook are pretty incredible! This is just a small sample. I’m providing a name for each link, but there is much more info about each work and artist on the Credits & Acknowledgements page linked above.
