Who we are

Series editor Hapax Legomenon is 100% responsible for all the content on this website. Site hosting and technical support is provided by PersonvillePress. Ripe Mango Take Two Press is an imprint of Personville Press. To get in touch, use the site contact form.

General Principles

The main goal of this site is to feature and promote a series of erotica ebooks. The editor/author Hapax Legomenon writes with a pseudonym and respects people’s rights to use pseudonyms when posting or commenting on adult-only content. He also respects people’s right not to be associated with adult-themed content.

Policy on Using Emails

See also: the section below titled “General Website Info.”

When making a comment on a web post or sending a comment via the web form, it is sometimes necessary for you to provide an email address.

Although these emails are stored in the blog’s database, they will never be given to third parties; they will only be used by Hapax Legomenon or Ripe Mango Take Two Press.

Dummy Emails. Generally it is always permitted to use a dummy email (i.e., not-a-real-email@notmyaddress.com ) when completing a web form.

As of June 2023, Ripe Mango Take Two Press does not have an email newsletter. If it decides to start one, emails from comments predating the newsletter will not be imported. Visitors won’t be signed up unless they first choose to opt-in.

Because it features adults-only content, Ripe Mango Take Two Press keeps email correspondence to a minimum. Occasionally people who send a message through the site’s contact form will receive a response.

Policy on Comments and Book Reviews

From the site’s founding (in 2003), the site has featured reader comments and excerpts from book reviews. This is an important part of engaging with the public; these “testimonials” serve an important marketing function for the ebook series.

If the book review was published on a third party platform (like librarything or goodreads or even a blog or substack), it may be excerpted or republished in its entirety. Although proper credit will always be given, a link to the original website with the review will not always be provided.

If you wrote the review or original comment and do not wish for your comment to appear anywhere on this website, send a message through the contact form.

All web forms will provide an option which let you keep your reponse totally private (see below). Note that often the second option is checked by default, so you would need to check the first option instead.

If you choose, you can include a URL with your comment (if for example you wish to promote your blog or social media account).

Copyright and Ownership

Obviously, if you originally wrote the review or comment, you own the copyright. So if you request that your writing not appear on this website, I generally will try to respect your wishes.

Generic language from WordPress. If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. (From Hapax: I have never actually tried to do this before, but I probably could do this upon request!)

Cookies and Tracking

The Ripe Mango Take Two Press website has installed several tools to track site traffic. All the web pages use some kind of web tracking code provided by Google Analytics. These things track device, browser, country, display size, search terms, etc.

By the way, the site generally does not include trackers from Facebook, Twitter, etc. (Editorial aside: Personally, I will try to declutter these webpages as much as I can!)

General Website Info

I.P. Addresses. When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Spam Filters. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Cookies. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Email + Gravatar. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Embedded Content. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Data Retention. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
