Here is a list of personal blogs and substack newsletters which have all kinds of links to sex in culture . This list is kind of timeless, so I’ll be adding to it over time. I am grouping them by interests or style, but keep in mind that almost all of them cover lots of subjects and a diversity of perspectives.

I used to follow erosblog fairly regularly in the early 2000s, and then forgot about it for some reason. I found a link to it on my archive and found that the blog is still alive and very active. The blog links to unusual pop culture, lots of vintage NSFW photos, articles and now apparently short vids from Onlyfans or something like that. Also, noticed that he’s on @erosblog on Mastodon.

Lisabet Sarai‘s Beyond Romance blog is mostly about erotica books (Sarai is actually an erotica author), but her blog features and reviews a lot of other authors — plus a lot of excerpts and interviews.

Criticism & Cultural Commentary
Beauty and Eros offers a critical appreciation of erotic fiction and nude photography. Full of good long articles and related art. It is written by author Cynthia Gioia-Puel, who approaches these subjects as an art historian.

Unbelievably, the Playboy Reader mixes legacy pictorials with old Playboy articles and occasionally fresh content. Lots of republished articles and interviews, fiction, nostalgia.
Rialto Report is one of my favorite websites and podcasts. Produced by Ashley West and April West who have written books on the Golden Age of Porn and served as consultants for TV shows. The podcasts contain interviews with ex-porn stars and people who used to be in the industry. Their stories are entertaining, heart-breaking and always riveting. The blogposts accompanying the podcast episodes are also great and contain comments from both readers and ex-performers. Also, the photos of these performers from past decades are beautiful and full of life and fun. Don’t miss the Rialto Library, which contains digitized scans and PDFs of magazines and books related to the adult film industry. I admit that I used to obtain copies of several of these publications, which were titillating, funny and informative.
